Welcome to Our New Website!

On behalf of the staff and trustees of The Leakey Foundation, we would like to welcome you to our new website, a new tool in fulfilling our mission!

Over the years the internet has become invaluable in disseminating information. The Leakey Foundation has evolved with the times! We now have over 180,000 Twitter followers, and our active Facebook page has over 4,700 likes. As this audience grows, so does our website traffic, and so it is that much more of a priority for us to have a website that really shows our audience all the good work we are doing.

Here are just a few of the highlights:

Improved blog functionality– Recently we began inviting our grantees to share their research with you in a variety of online formats. This new, more robust blog is a great place to feature the their amazing work, and improved search functionality and categorization will help visitors to navigate and find new content, keeping visitors more engaged.

New Events Calendar Did you know that The Leakey Foundation now has numerous outreach and education initiatives? From our monthly Being Human events, the Origin Stories Podcast, to our Classroom Visits, there is something for everyone, and there is always something going on. Now you will be able to find upcoming events as well as view media from previous events. Much in the way TED Talks takes the lecture out of the auditorium, it is The Leakey Foundation’s goal to share our educational and outreach programs with everyone!

Streamlined Donations We can’t do this without you! And so we have designed our donation process to be as simple and helpful as possible. We hope you will continue to help the Leakey Foundation, and with the million dollar challenge in progress, now is the time for you to donate and have your gift matched dollar for dollar!

Refined Grants Section We have made refinements to the grants section of our web site, making it easier for grant seekers to find the information they need. For those of you who have applied for a grant before or if you are in the process of applying for a grant, fear not! We have not modified the grant application process, and as always, send an email to [email protected] if you have any questions.

So there you have it, a new, dynamic, attractive website to showcase the incredible work of the The Leakey Foundation. We are a small organization with a large impact, and we hope you enjoy and come back often!
