Did you miss one of our recent Leakey Foundation events? Or maybe you want to re-watch one of the events you attended? We are pleased to announce that we have just released many of the videos from our Being Human event series held in 2015 and 2016!

If you are unfamiliar with our Being Human series, these were The Leakey Foundation’s cool, casual lectures at Public Works in the Mission neighborhood of San Francisco. We mixed short talks from great minds with fun hands-on experiments, drinks, conversation, and storytelling. At each event we investigated different aspects of our evolution, our behavior, and the human experience.

To celebrate this video release, we are offering half price tickets to our upcoming event on November 3rd entitled “The Power Paradox.” U.C. Berkeley psychologist Dacher Keltner will explore the evolution of power. We will also learn the surprising origin of enduring power. Get your tickets now(Use event code BASF16 to get your discount.)

Stay tuned! We are pleased to announce that we will be presenting a new series of casual events next year entitled Science Speakeasy. Come to our November 3rd event to learn more!

Below we feature the video from our February 2016 event entitled “Speaking of Sex.” In this talk anthropologist David Puts explores explores the origins of human sexuality by looking at the evolution of sexual differences in the human voice.
