Diet and Nutrition: Human Survival in the Era of Chronic ‘Diseases of Civilization’
University of Utah College of Social and Behavioral Science
Livestream
October 21 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
How did evolution shape the way we eat–and what can it tell us about today’s diets? Join University of Utah researchers Tom Kraft and Tanya Halliday, along with Harvard evolutionary biologist Daniel Lieberman, for a lively livestreamed conversation on food, health, and human adaptation. Drawing on the evolutionary history of eating, the panel will examine why no single diet works for everyone, the appeal and consequences of ultra-processed foods, and what traditional foodways and modern science can teach us about living well.
