Grants | The Leakey Foundation
The Joan Cogswell Donner Field School Scholarship provides grants to help students access the hands-on field science training they need to start their careers. This year, we are pleased to award scholarships to six students attending Human Origins Migration and Evolution Research (HOMER) project field schools in South Africa and Malawi.
With support from The Leakey Foundation, Akinlolu Damilola Blessing (University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria), Alemu Gebresilassie Wolde (Wolaita Sodo University, Ethiopia), and Zahra Omarjee (University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa) will attend field school at Boomplaas in South Africa. This school is led by Leakey Foundation grantee and Baldwin Fellow Justin Pargeter of New York University.
Polite Dzvairo (Midlands State University, Zimbabwe), Hildegarda Lelio (University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania), and Malesetla Sepamo (National University of Lesotho, Lesotho) will attend field school at Kasitu Valley in Malawi. This school is led by Leakey Foundation grantee Jessica Thompson of Yale University.
We thank Joan Cogswell Donner for making this important scholarship program possible.
