He has an MA in prehistory and archaeology from the University of Sheffield. His popular books on archaeology include Circles and Standing Stones\, Secrets of the Ice Age\, Early Man and the Cosmos\, and Lines to the Mountain Gods. His feature articles have appeared in National Geographic\, Smithsonian\, The Atlantic\, Discover\, and elsewhere. At NOVA\, he is responsible for the editorial accuracy of the science content in the award-winning series. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDiscovering Us: Fifty Great Discoveries in Human Origins presents stories of the most exciting and groundbreaking surprises revealed by this wide-ranging new science in fifty lively and up-to-the-minute essays.
