Leakey Foundation members are curious about the answers to these and many more questions about how modern humans came to be. Together we are working to interpret the story of human evolution.
What do our members support?
Though human evolution may have occurred over millions of years, its interpretation cannot. Time is of the essence as modern incursions into habitat and traditional cultures erase the evidence necessary to solve the puzzle of human origins. By establishing long-term study sites, scientists are able to stimulate the protection of primate habitat and traditional societies, preserving unique windows into humankind's past.
In order to achieve this, the Foundation’s grant program seeks public support to foster vital international research. Through the generosity of our members for more than thirty years, the Foundation has awarded more than seven million dollars in research grants.
