Grantee Content

Part of The Leakey Foundation’s mission is to increase public understanding of human evolution and behavior, and sharing information about our grantees’ research is an important part of that mission. We share grantee research with our large social media audience, the thousands of weekly visitors to our website, and the 30,000 monthly listeners of our Origin Stories podcast.

The Leakey Foundation now requires new grantees to participate in our outreach efforts by submitting content as described below. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Initial Brief Description of Your Research (Required)

We would like to introduce new Leakey Foundation grantees to our audience with a short article written for a general audience (~250-500 words). What are you working on? What do you hope to learn? Why is this work interesting? What further experiments might your research lead to? Please take a moment to write about your work and send it along with a few pictures, including a photo of yourself.

News from the Field (Required)

Keep our audience connected to your work. We get a great response from these types of articles. This can take the form of a few pictures with descriptions, a short update on your progress, news of interesting discoveries, etc. Please provide at least one update as your work progresses. This requirement is now in lieu of a progress report. Updates along the way are more than welcome.

Other Content (Suggested)

If you have ideas on content you would like to provide, please let us know. Conference coverage, guest blog posts, commentary, longer articles for our newsletter, pictures, videos, etc.

If you’re interested in being interviewed for our Origin Stories podcast or appearing on Lunch Break Science, please let us know.

If you have any questions or ideas, please contact Meredith Johnson at [email protected].
