The Annual Speaker Series on Human Origins
The Annual Speaker Series on Human Origins is the keystone program of The Leakey Foundation’s outreach efforts to fulfill its mission to further education and public understanding of human origins. The lecture programs began in the 1960s with Dr. Louis Leakey visiting schools and museum auditoriums to make the research of human origins accessible to the public.

Speakers offer accessible presentations to the general public in key cities around the United States. This year, the Foundation put on lectures in Houston, Chicago, Santa Fe, San Francisco, New York and Cody, WY. Over 1500 people attended these lectures and plans are under way to post online video of these presentations, offering the potential to expose thousands more the programs.
